About Hallie
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I play fast, strong, and with purpose. I’m always trying to be the quickest to the ball, read hitters early, and make aggressive plays that keep the momentum on our side. I bring a lot of intensity in serve receive and on defense, but I also care a lot about energy and leadership. I’m always hyping up my teammates, communicating loud and clear, and doing whatever I can to keep the vibe positive.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’m super competitive and confident, but I’m always team-first in everything I do. I bring a lot of positive energy to the court and try to focus on what I can control. I stay calm when things get intense, I don’t back down from challenges, and I want to be someone my teammates can always count on. I’m loud, encouraging, and always trying to help the people around me get better.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I’m really involved at Prestonwood Baptist Church, where I’m part of the student ministry and sing in the student choir. Being in choir has helped me grow a lot in confidence and leadership, and I love getting to use my talents to serve other people. My faith is a huge part of who I am, and I have a big heart for missions and helping others.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Through volleyball, church, and serving others, I’ve grown a lot as a leader and teammate. As a Libero/DS and captain of my club team, I’ve learned how to communicate clearly, stay calm under pressure, and be someone my team can count on. I always try to be steady, positive, and encouraging, especially in big moments.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Growing up with an adopted brother of a different race has shaped me in meaningful ways. It’s taught me empathy, courage, and how to stand up for others. Navigating questions and differences strengthened my character and deepened my commitment to inclusion, compassion, and unity.
What type of college are you looking for?
When I was on a 12U club team, I had a coach who wasn’t honest with me, and it was really discouraging. I felt confused and started doubting myself, and it almost made me lose my love for volleyball. Looking back, it made me stronger and helped me appreciate supportive coaches and teammates even more.
