I’ve been watching Tengblad for for a few years now, and it’s been really fun to see her growth and development over that stretch. Even though she’s spent a lot of her club career playing up on 17s, she still isn’t technically even at that age level yet, which makes what she’s doing even more impressive.

Tengblad is a pin that is super quick, has a fast arm swing, and can score from either pin, which makes her a real problem for defenses. She plays with energy, competes hard, and finds ways to impact the game whether on offense or defense…and she did just that at the Gauntlet. To sum it up, she’s just a baller that you know is going to bring her all every time she steps on the court.

Watching her from courtside, her approach tempo and contact point stood out — she created space, contacted high, and showed the ability to score with range. Harper attacked aggressively in transition and managed out-of-system swings well, mixing pace and shot selection to stay efficient.

Harper was an athlete who was constantly engaged and hungry for the ball. She had great ball control and was aggressive with her swings. She was just a solid player and athlete who got the job done, covered the court well, and was reliable in every aspect of her game. She has a quick arm and a powerful swing that helps her earn points.

Playing on the highly successful volleyball program of Holmen, Tenglad is an energetic hitter that proved she could compete at the highest level, even if she was the youngest player on the team. She earned court time through her versatility as a front row weapon, providing an offense spark when her team needed it. What makes Tengblad fun to watch is that not only can she terminate successfully from the outside, but she’s also capable of taking big swings out of the middle and confidently taking on out-of-system balls with ease. Her versatility, skill, and poise on the court make her a standout young athlete that we can’t wait to see this winter.

Harper Tengblad Harper Tengblad 5'9" | OH WI deserves some serious recognition as a rising star. As a 2028, this outside hitter is playing up 2 age levels and killing it in the 17s division. Tengblad can not only terminate with power but she is a crafty attacker. She has learned to read the block in front of her and understands how to use her opponents hands to score, go around the block, or go up and over the block to generate kills. She has also developed some highly effective off speed shots that score her numerous points. The game exposure she is getting at such a young age is only going to help her continue to grow her game. I will be following this player (as are many others) over the next few years.
