About Henley

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with energy. I'm positive on the floor and I lift my teammates up with me.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My friends, family and teammates would say I'm a fun-loving person, who works well with others. I'm driven, determined, and a hard worker.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm a member of student council at my middle school and also a member of the National Junior Honor Society. I have received a number of academic awards, along with a PBS writing award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've learned many skills through volleyball that serve me well off the floor. There's no substitute for hard work. No cutting corners. The only way to improve is by putting in the time and the only way to succeed as a team is by working together, supporting each other and being selfless, rather than selfish.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I've had injuries like everyone else, but the biggest challenge I've had to overcome was sitting the bench my first year and a half of travel ball and not getting discouraged. It's tough to stay positive and motivated when you're not playing. I never stopped working, never stopped being a great teammate and through that, worked my way onto the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college not too far from home, where I can get a great education, enjoy some outdoor recreation and have a lot of fun.
