About Jaelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am an aggressive and versatile Middle Blocker who is able to play OH/PIN when asked. I want to ensure that I give my all while on the court and continue to learn with each set played.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

While on the court, I can be intense but when we score, I get a big block or when we win a match I smile. I usually am the one who cheers her team mates on while on or off the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Involved in leadership for my local High School

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership skills where I am able to utilize on and off the court. I have worked on projects in my leadership class where I have developed activities and events for my school. I have volunteered with our best buddies program which puts on abilities awareness programs and special Olympics for students of different abilities.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Biggest challenged that I have faced is learning how to deal with anxiety and also having a learning difference. I have been able to understand what works best for me when these emotions do take control and playing volleyball has allowed me to channel these emotions and feel a sense of relief.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is medium sized which specializes in small learning environments. One that provides educational support and athletics.
