About Jaelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m always ready to play, and I always come with aggression. As a setter my goal is to touch every ball or make it better. I like to move the ball around and find open and key areas to put the ball to win the point.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

After making a mistake, I’m going to make the next one better. Keep moving and keep going is the mentality. I never give up on my team and I want to make it as easy as possible for them. I love the feeling of working together, it’s one of the best feelings to have.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Leadership is everything on the court. The feeling of often feeling nervous and not confident is shown and I think that someone who reassures everyone to keep going is important. A team needs each other and we need to lift each other up so we can succeed together.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I was out for a month, and came back 2 weeks before a tournament. I got replaced for my position but was ready to be played as anything. I didn’t play the first game. Then, I played as DS and made little to none mistakes, not letting any ball drop. The next game I start, have an excellent performance, then going back to my original position starting and never leaving the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

A college where I can play ball and have a successful career path. I’m grateful to play at any college.
