About Jaydee
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My volleyball style is playing with fearless, high-energy style built on quick reactions and effort. I have the ability to read hitters which gives me the ability to anticipate where the ball is going to go onto the court whether it will go out, or in. What stands out to me is my determination and energy. My passing is reliable, being able to let the setters run the offense.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality on and off the court is being extremely coachable and approachable, I'm always willing to learn and take advice on my game play. My energy and positivity that I show on and off the court as well, is me trying to lift up my teammates. Even though sometimes when I slip into negative thoughts, I use that as fuel to push myself to improve. Communication is also a strength of mine.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am involved in many clubs, and organizations. At Meade County High-school, they offer many clubs/organizations. I am involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), Pep club, Educators Rising, and Leadership Athletic Development (LAD). I am an all A honor roll student. I attend First Baptist Church as well. For my community, I help walk dogs at the Meade County animal shelter.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have enhanced my leadership skills by being named team captain for my club team, and when I'm on the court I strive for leadership to run the defense smoothly and making sure everyone is communicating. I have leveled tthis by communicating as a libero/DS. I have gotten an award called "Ladywave award". This being described as the person that has the best attitude on and off the court.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
In volleyball, I had lost the privilege to have the libero jersey. This made me persevere and made me work harder to get the spot back. Keeping the libero jersey isn't easy, you have to work, show your hustle, and your work ethic on the court. In my personal life, I lost 2 of my grandparents during the season. This made me lose my motivation, but I realized that they wanted me to reach my goals.
What type of college are you looking for?
The type of college I am looking for is one within a couple hours of home, and one that has my major. I would also love to play volleyball at the collegiate level, and pursue my dreams. By saying that I want to play at the collegiate level, I want a coach that is open to give me advice and improve my skills, and also off court advice.
