About Jayden

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as intentional, disciplined, and team-focused. As a DS/Libero, I take pride in being a reliable presence in serve receive and defense, emphasizing consistent ball control and strong defensive awareness. I bring strong leadership, clear communication, and positive energy to the court while working to keep rallies alive and create opportunities for our offense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my mentality as driven and competitive, but humble and team-oriented. I’m always looking for ways to improve my game and bring a high volleyball IQ to the court, while staying positive and supportive of my teammates. I’m passionate about the sport, future-focused in my goals, and I try to balance that with a fun, energetic personality that helps keep the team motivated.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a National Honor Society member

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through my experiences in volleyball, I’ve developed leadership, accountability, and teamwork skills. I’ve learned how to support and motivate my teammates, stay composed in high-pressure moments, and contribute to a positive, competitive team culture. It has helped me grow in discipline, time management, and the importance of giving back while being a positive role model for others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Like most athletes, I faced challenges throughout my volleyball journey. Difficult team dynamics, being underestimated and overlooked, and a season-ending injury early in my development affected my opportunities to demonstrate the impact I have on a team. These experiences have strengthened my mindset, taught me to stay focused on my goals, and helped me develop confidence in the value I bring.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a medium to large university with a strong nursing program that provides access to innovative technologies and hands-on learning opportunities, especially those that support my long-term goal of working in neonatal care. I’m drawn to a coastal environment where the sun shines often, as that type of setting brings out the best in my personality and energy.
