A little conundrum with Jenevieve. She debuted in our rankings at # 76. Her teammate at Virginia Juniors Olivia Baick Olivia Baick 5'7" | DS/L/OH Oakton | 2029 State VA ranks at # 28. Both are superior defensive players. Jenevieve normally plays the libero position in the sets that I have watched while Olivia plays as the defensive specialist. They both play a strong back row.

This created a big jump for Jenevieve from # 76 to # 35. Still not ahead of Olivia in the rankings but in the same neighborhood. A very intense player who passes well while also covering her defensive position.

Virginia Juniors recently qualified for the Liberty Division. They had previously earned a Freedom Bid and prior to that fell one win short of taking an American bid.

Madison Meiring Madison Meiring 5'10" | OH/DS/L Oakton | 2029 State VA is the top offensive player on this team. In order for her to show off her skills she needs to rely on the back row players Olivia Baick Olivia Baick 5'7" | DS/L/OH Oakton | 2029 State VA and Jenevieve to create a good pass.

While Olivia may suit up with the libero jersey both have the skills to play the position. With Jenevieve she turned down a club offer because they only practiced two days a week and she felt the need to practice three days per week to improve her skills. It will be hard to find two back row players that show the hustle of both Olivia and Jenevieve. They strive for success.

If not for their back row play Madison would not have the opportunity to show off her skills in the front row.

She was the defensive specialist for Centerville but her and Charity Morris Charity Morris 5'4" | DS/L Centreville | 2027 State VA seemed to smother the back court, digging every ball within their reach. She plays with immense intensity with no fear about hitting the floor to make a dig.

Last year she played for club Libero and I made the comment that it would not surprise me if she became more popular in the club recruiting scene. It appears this year she will play back row for Virginia Juniors, which could be considered a step up in the club pecking order.

When I watched the Wildcats play at the Crossroads tournament at Justice High Jenevieve came in as a defensive specialist. The libero was junior Charity Morris Charity Morris 5'4" | DS/L Centreville | 2027 State VA . Loved the intensity of Jenevieve when she was on the court. She showed no fear for hitting the floor to save a point. With those two covering the back row they won the Crossroads tournament hosted by Justice high school.

This past season Jenevieve played for the club named Libero. At 5’2″ she may be small in stature but she shows the quickness to cover the court. It would not surprise me if she turns into a popular player on the recruiting club scene if she does not return to Libero.
