Of the setters in attendance Sunday, none showed better body control and athleticism than Jenna. Even her size doesn’t limit her possibilities—on multiple occasions, she had to go get a tight pass, and not only did she get there, it was sent out as a perfect set to any one of her three-plus hitters during team play. Prior to this past season, I didn’t know much about Jenna. Her arrival on Sunday proved that I have her a bit too low on our rankings list, as this young lady is college-ready, through and through.

Leading us off is an under-the-radar setter who will be someone to watch next spring on Rev’s 17-1 squad. Quick and accurate, Jenna was regularly finding the right hitter in the right situation in drills as well as in the full team play. Her individual skill set is polished and trained—her hands received each and every ball in the same spot every time, she got her feet to every ball, and tempi never changed because of in- or out-of-system passing. I liked this kid from the start, and so did many coaches in attendance on Sunday.

Abram is just a sophomore and has already been setting for the varsity team at Edgewood for two years now. She led the team in both assists and blocks (as a setter!) and finished second in aces. Jenna is headed to Rev this year after being at Btown VBC, and I am super excited to see how she competes there. At the Expo on 12/7 I expect her blocking and serving to stand out amongst the other setters.

Jenna has developed into a quality setter and runs the show extremely well as a part of the 6-2 offense that Edgewood runs with May. She is calm & controlled for being a young setter and is extremely sound in the mental aspect of the game, never letting errors or runs show in her body language. To round out her game, Jenna has a serve she can pinpoint to any location on the court, with a jump float where the bottom just drops out. Look for Abrams to continue to develop into a collegiate level setter over the next few years as she takes her experience to Rev Volleyball Academy in Indianapolis and sees an even higher level of competition year-round.
