Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As a player I care about the team and I am willing to fill either libero or ds role. I am a player that is vocal in helping my teammates read and run a good offense. High pressure and competitive games are some of my best games where I produce and uplift my teammates. I always try to hype up and support my teammate even when they are not playing their best.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
As an athlete I have a very strong drive to succeed and do my best always. When I am playing I don’t want to let any ball drop and want to prove myself. I have go mentality because I want to get every ball up and make it playable. I hustle to pursue every ball. I am vocal while playing trying to encourage my team. I always support and cheer my teammates on.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Outside of the sport I have received multiple academic awards based on my gpa, grades, and experience. Since I was little I have been hunting and have been asked to join different shooting teams. My accomplishments in hunting and academics help me develop new skills and techniques that help me both on and off the court.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have gained so much from volleyball I never could have imagined. When I first started playing I was not nearly as confident in anything as I am now. This sport brings me a sense of safety and comfort because I know it will take care of me. I gained a voice and trust because my teammates are always there backing me up. At my old elementary school I volunteer and help coach the little kids.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have always been extremely hard on myself about everything, but when I started playing volleyball it affected me differently. I would make one mistake and get in my head and underperform. I was stuck in a self sabotaging cycle. My coach realized and supported me to focus more on the mental side of the sport. My mental was a challenge, but I tried different techniques and strategies to improve.
What type of college are you looking for?
When someone asks me what college I want to attend I always say I don’t know, but in reality I want to go to a college where I will be supported, accepted, and appreciated. I want to be able to create connections with my peers and hopefully teammates. I want to get the best education I can for what I am looking to accomplish and also be an athlete in a great program that sees me and supports me.
