About Jillianne

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a leader on and off the court and quick on my feet but also grounded when it comes down to having to make split second decisions.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Mentally I am a tough player who isn’t easily shaken by mistakes, I’m one to move on and correct it next time. Personality wise I’m always one to lend out a helping hand to anyone who needs it especially on the court.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in my school’s NJROTC program. I have swiftly moved up the ranks in the program where I now am a Cadet Petty Officer First Class. My freshman year I was awarded Outstanding Cadet and the Naval Helicopter Association award and medal. During the summer of Freshman year I was selected out of more than 60 other Freshmen to go to Sail Academy where I was made captain and won First Place.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed many skills through NJROTC and volleyball. I have learned to be a much better team player but also retain my leadership skills. I am able to lead others while still maintaining a positive relationship. I also give back to my community through NJROTC and other community service and currently have 175 hours.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During my 14s and 15s season of club volleyball I had issues with another player on my team. What they said and their actions really affected me and the entire team dynamic. I persevered and focused on myself and have come much farther than I ever thought I would.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college in California that has a good medical program along with an (N)ROTC program that can help me grow as a volleyball player and person overall.
