About Joelle

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay is smooth but also disciplined. I am able to make fast moves towards the ball in defense with my quick reaction time. I am also calm on serve receive as I don’t panic after one ace but think about how to better the ball the next serve that comes to me.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality has gotten stronger and stronger every year that I play. Every year I have been faced with many challenges; not feeling like I'm a good enough player, making mistakes and holding onto them, and feel less than my other teammates. I have learned that only I am responsible for myself, only I am able to turn the negative into a positive thought. Which makes me a passionate competitor.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am apart of my high school’s Red Cross Club and our G/T Orchestra. Last year I was a nominee for the Junior All State as a violist.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed teamwork as I have grown playing this sport with different teammates every year but, I find ways to make the new team feel like one. The new players come with not only new talent but also new attitudes that can help us win games and become mentally stronger together.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that not only fits my athletic needs but also academic. I am very passionate about animals and would love to major in animal science and or biology to become a veterinarian! In order to do so I need a college that has a strong program of any of the 3.
