How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As a 5'8" setter, I bring dynamic skills to both offense and defense. My quick footwork allows me to reach every ball, ensuring precise sets and agile defensive plays. I approach the game strategically, maximizing the strengths of my hitters by positioning them for optimal scoring opportunities. I also analyze the opposing team's weaknesses to exploit gaps and secure easy points.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My personality is very upbeat on and off the court; most describe me as a source of energy and a natural leader. I push hardest to exhibit the mentality that who I am as a volleyball player does not define who I am as a person. Losing on the court does not make me less of a person off the court. This mindset has helped me balance my social life, academics, and sports.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a member of the National Spanish Honor Society at my high school and a part of the production crew for my school's African American Literature Play.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
From third to eighth grade I was a Girl Scout which taught me cooperation, marketing, budgeting, community service, and growing me to be a leader. This year I am a captain on the Varsity volleyball team and it has taught me the effects of understanding perspective and how being able to compromise and listen to understand rather than fix is a fundamental part of being a leader.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a college that not only allows me to play volleyball at a higher level but a school that allows me to pursue my dreams of studying psychology and provides a balance between prioritizing sports and academics. I wish to go to a college that will not only develop me as a player but as a person and prepare me for life after school and after volleyball if needed.
