Kamila Delacruz anchored the backcourt with fearless defense, consistently putting her body on the floor to extend rallies. She communicated constantly, led from the back row, and brought steady leadership to her team.

Kamila Delacruz’s first contact is the strength she leads with, and it shows in how she talks about her role: consistent serve receive, aggressive defensive reads, and communication that doesn’t stop whether she’s on the court or cheering from the bench.

At Nationals, she dug some of the best hitters her team faced all tournament, a clear marker that her defensive habits are already translating against elite competition a full grade level up. She’s a freshman who plays like she’s been doing this longer, and she backs that with a work ethic that carries into the classroom and a faith and family foundation she credits for keeping her grounded.

This summer includes the Freshman PrepDig Showcase, team invites, private lessons, and steady time in the weight room, all aimed at becoming a more complete libero heading into her first high school season.

Kamila DeLaCruz generated steady defensive rhythm through accurate serve receive and active seam communication. Her ability to keep hard-driven attacks in play provided extended scoring opportunities, and her energy in the backcourt helped maintain composure during demanding sequences. Accurate passing to target allowed her setter to run offense without disruption.

Her current emphasis is on strengthening footwork and platform discipline against higher-velocity servers, focusing on staying low and moving through the ball rather than reaching. Off the court, DeLaCruz balances academics and athletics with intention, continuing to build confidence and leadership habits beyond competition.

Kamila DeLaCruz will compete next at Red Rock April 4-6.
