Kaylani Perez moves straight to the next play with a clear head, and she works to make her next touch even better than the last. She points to her work ethic and her positive attitude as what makes her stand out, and she describes herself as coachable, someone who listens and does whatever her team needs. A lesson from a private lesson reinforced that mindset directly, her coach reminded her that every point is a fresh opportunity, and that her mental approach matters just as much as her mechanical skill. Perez is excited to play with new teammates and take on a higher level of competition this freshman season, and what keeps her going is knowing that every practice and workout moves her closer to her goals. Her goals for this season include becoming a better player and teammate while finding even more love for the game, and long term she’s hoping to play in a college program built on hard work, teamwork, and coachability.
