Mullican set for the Drive Nation 17 – Red team that finished fourth with five wins and three losses and earned a bid to Nationals. A tall, left-handed setter, she was creative and unpredictable with her playmaking, moving her hitters around in combination plays and keeping all of them involved offensively. Mullican also showed great mobility to track passes off the net, remaining accurate with her locations even in out-of-system plays. The setter also contributed with her serving, always forcing opponents to move to get to the ball and limiting their passing accuracy.

Mullican is part of the Drive Nation 17 Red team set to play in the 17 Invitational Division this weekend. She’s primarily a setter for them, but can also take on hitting duties on the right and produce at a high level. As a playmaker, she stands out for her ability to contact the ball very high up at the net and accelerate the game, while also being creative with her distribution. A lefty with excellent length, she uses her technique and vision to score points when working as a right side hitter and can also surprise opponents with her aggressive setter dumps, which on some occasions are more like setter swings.

Mullican will lead the offense of Drive Nation – 16 Red in the tournament’s 16 Open division. She joined the team this season, coming from Excel, and has taken their offensive system to another level with her quality on the ball and creative playmaking. Mullican has a great touch on the ball and does a good job of keeping all her hitters involved, but what makes her game special is her ability to read what’s happening on the court and adjust the strategy on her own, without much input. A lefty, she has a long frame and can also score points off of setter dumps or even by turning into a right-side hitter, again using her high volleyball IQ to make good selections with her shots.

Added to our Class of 2027 Watchlist, Mullican plays high school volleyball for Hebron and is the starting setter of Excel 15 National Red at the club level. She has great setting hands and likes to keep all of her hitters involved, but is excellent at understanding what the match is asking for and incorporating it into her distribution. Mullican is very dynamic and plays with a high energy level on both sides of the ball. A very technical and intelligent player, she’s also capable of taking hitting duties on the right and uses her skilled left hand and her impressive vision to score points.
