I really like the game of Karlyn Kovarna Karlyn Kovarna 5'10" | OH Hinton | 2026 State IA because she is that small town, scrappy, all around athlete who isn’t afraid of any opportunity.  She earned plenty of post season honors for her high school season and will look to build off that for her club season where she will play for MVP ‘ last=”]’ last=”]’ last=”] out of the Sioux City area.  Kovarna is a dynamic six rotation outside hitter who can serve receive, pass, and score points.  She is located in the heart of GPAC country, one of the top NAIA conferences in the country and I’m sure will be one those coaches will have on the radar. 

Kovarna’s physicality set her apart among her pin-hitting peers. She was a constant scoring threat in last weekend’s six-on-six drills and did not relent in the back row, either. These traits put Kovarna at the top of Hinton’s kill chart this year with over 300 on a 0.350 clip. When injuries transformed the Blackhawk lineup, Kovarna’s leadership kept the team’s positive momentum rolling into the postseason. This experience is already paying off.

Kovarna will be coming from Western Iowa where she was a big standout for Hinton this past season.  She has state tournament experience where she was a key part of the Blackhawks 2023 state runner up finish.  This past high school season she had over 300 kills which led to her receiving post season honors as 1st Team All War Eagle, All District, and All State.  She is a pure playmaker and she will be building to have a big club season and senior season in 2025.
