About Katalena

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is do whatever it takes to earn the point. I am an aggressive player who strives to give my hitters the best opportunity to make the kill and I am unafraid to make the play myself when given the chance. I will do whatever it takes to get to every ball and support my team however needed to win.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is all about the team and what we can accomplish working together. I am a resilient fighter and will never give up despite setbacks or challenges.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am leader both on and off the court who leads by example and through the positive support of my teammates. I am always willing to step-in wherever help is needed, whether running camps or shagging balls.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My biggest challenge thus far has been the move my family made from Pennsylvania to Texas just as the pandemic hit in 2020. It was a major adjustment for myself and my family. My parents had hoped that the timing of the move would give my brother and I the chance to make new friends and settle in before the end of the school year, but this was very difficult when school became fully remote.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that will give me the best education that I can put to use when I graduate as well as a competitive volleyball program so I can continue to work at my passion.
