After a strong show of hustle and discipline, she is not done keeping rallies alive and controlling the defense on her side of the court. Her ability to deliver a clean pass using technical footwork and fundamentals have set her out to be a tough defender to get by for opposing offenses. As the post season progresses Savannah Sterna Savannah Sterna 5'10" | DS/L Byron Nelson | 2027 State TX will be the defender to keep her team ahead and the obstacle to take out for teams across the net.

Please welcome Miss Sterna officially to the State Rankings.  She is currently ranked as the 73^rd best overall prospect in the 2027 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.  She plays for Byron Nelson High School and also for the MadFrog volleyball club.  If there is one constant in the volleyball world, it is that MadFrog produces some of the best liberos on the planet.  Savannah is another example of that.  What is most impressive about her is not that she is a taller libero, but rather how she uses that length to her advantage when laying out for the ball.  It really helps to extend her range and pick up balls that are well outside of her zone.  She has an amazing ability to contort her body rapidly in order to create great angles while digging hard driven balls.  Volleyball enthusiasts like myself will find her emergency digs and fast twitch muscle movements very entertaining to watch.  The way she plays defense brings so much enjoyment to any spectators as she flies around and covers her hitters.  We think she has a very high ceiling to keep improving her stock and rise in the rankings.  Please help us congratulate her on being named one of the best players in the state of Texas.

Savannah has a solid foundation in serve receive, consistently using her split step before contact to stay ready and balanced. She reads the serve well, tracks the ball cleanly, and moves efficiently to get her platform behind it. Defensively, she proves herself as a reliable presence, staying stopped on contact and making controlled plays. Her ability to read hitters allows her to anticipate swings and put herself in the right position, making her a strong libero in both serve receive and back-row defense. With her court awareness, discipline, and consistency, Savannah is a key defensive anchor.
