Another player who has won a couple Prep Dig top performer awards. A 6’0″ setter who has learned from Megan Phan at Bullis. Now that Megan has graduated, she will be taking over the setting responsibilities for Bullis. Currently the sixth ranked setter in the Class of 2028.

Katelyn has set a 6/2 for Libero the last two years. Prior to that she set for the Paramount second team. She normally stays in the front row to hit right side for offense.

This is a big year for her to improve on the technical aspects for setting. In June she will be taking her skills to the Junior Nationals where she will be setting for Libero in the American Division.

It appears the focus is on height with these recruits. At 6’0″ Katelyn brings plenty of that to the setter position. Last year she set for Bullis in a down year after they won the ISL championship the previous year. She was one of the few returning players from that team. They went from first to last in the ISL.

Katelyn has played for Paramount , but the last two years she has set for Libero. One of the rare players who has won two top performer awards from our Prep Dig showcases.

For the Libero Huskies she runs a 6/2 and stays in the front row to block and hit.

Katelyn signed up late. I thought I identified all the top performer from previous showcases. I missed Katelyn. Last year Katelyn won a top performer at the Frosh showcase. In hindsight she should have been celebrated with the other returning top performers.

She stands 6’0″, tall for a setter. Her big challenge is to work on maintaining her quickness to get to the ball. At the higher levels coaches look for setters who always use their hands. With her ability to hit well from the right side her versatility ranks high. In a 6’2″ she can stay right side as a hitter.

Katelyn moved from Paramount to Libero. The Paramount 15 team will play in Open at the USAV in Dallas. Libero will also play open but at AAUs in Orlando. Katelyn also should make the Bullis varsity this coming season as the secondary setter to Megan Phan Megan Phan 5'7" | S Bullis | 2026 State VA . As she told me she has learned a lot watching Megan set.
