About Kayla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a libero, my main focus is on consistent passing and communication with my teammates. I also prioritize quickness, good positioning, and maintaining high energy throughout the game.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am calm on the court even when things are not going well. I am also persistent and will always go for the ball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Grades are so important. I've had A/B honor roll for ten years in a row.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a libero, I feel that my attitude/spirit affects the offense so much. I always try to be vocal, encouraging, and confident in my play to show my teammates a strong work ethic. It's also important to always bounce back quickly from mistakes.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Last year, my club team stuggled a lot with discipline and poor attitude. I felt like I was taking a huge step back. I made the choice to rise above the disruptions and focus on being a positive team player no matter the outcome. I learned to smile in spite of the situation and encourage others even if things were not going well. I feel like a much better, well-rounded player because of this.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college that focuses on both academics and a competitive volleyball program where I can thrive as a libero and contribute with play time. I'd love a college with a great coaching staff that supports its players.
