About Kayla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I cover a lot, and try to dig every ball, set every OOS, and chase down a ball every chance I get. I call balls and mention where the ball is to my pins, middles, and other back row players to help them keep the ball in play (reading hits etc)

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm loud on the sidelines to my teammates and help cheer them on as much as I can. My mentality is not the strongest, but I have been working very hard to keep it stable like taking deep breaths, and setting my mindset on the next point if I ever mess up. Even if I don't know anybody at a camp or clinic, I always manage to make new friends at the end of the day.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a part of Middle School HOSA and Yearbook club at my school, I am also preparing for NCTE Writing Contest, and play the cello.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I am a member of the Red Cross in my local community, so I can try to make a change and create a healthy environment for families, and for my school's HOSA club, I am participating in an individual leadership activity, which really helps me develop on my public speaking skills, and time management. On my 24/25 club team, I was known for most improved player as well.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

In my 24/25 season, I remember being the benchwarmer, subbed out whenever going back to the service line, and coaches picking favorites on who gets to play. I decided that I'd for something better than this, so I stayed every time after practice whenever I could, and watched youtube videos on how to improve, and after all of the hard work and nights spent in the gym, I had proved myself on the cou

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college that has high academics, close to the city, and has not harsh weather.
