About Kenzie
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
During volleyball gameplay, I give it my all on every point, staying fully engaged and focused from start to finish. I maintain a positive attitude, even during challenging moments, and make a point to support and encourage my teammates, especially when we are losing. I am vocal on the court, communicating clearly and consistently to help keep our team organized and motivated. Above all, I am alwa
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
My mentality as an athlete is grounded in positivity, resilience, and self-awareness. I consider myself a positive teammate and competitor, always doing my best to stay optimistic and not get stuck in my own head. When I am struggling on the court, I look to my coach and teammates for reassurance and support, allowing them to help refocus and lift me back up. If I start to feel anxious or worried
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
Being a part of Crossfire and Northbound Beach Volleyball has helped me grow as a competitive athlete, while my time with STMA United Soccer taught me the importance of commitment, teamwork, and dedication. I'm also a member of the STMA HS where I've earned Rookie of the Year as a freshman and Defensive MVP honors during both my sophomore and junior year, most recently, I was nominated as captain.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I have developed not only strong teamwork skills but also meaningful leadership abilities. As a libero, I am often the voice on the court, responsible for communicating, organizing the defense, and keeping teammates focused and connected during play. As a captain has further strengthened my leadership by teaching me how to communicate effectively and putting the needs of the team first.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
Facing repeated team placement challenges was frustrating, as I moved down a team each year, but I stayed focused on improving and did not give up. Through determination, grit, and consistent effort, I pushed through setbacks and continued working toward my goals. This season, that persistence paid off when I moved up two teams, proving that resilience and hard work lead to success.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a mid-sized, four-year college in the Midwest where I am more than just a number and professors know my name and face. I want a campus that offers engaging opportunities both on and off campus, with activities that allow me to stay involved. Most importantly, I hope to find a school that provides a hometown feel while still giving me the independence to grow on my own.
