Expert Analysis
Jesse Etter | Prep Dig Scout
From Maddie: “A killer combo about Ki is that she’s determined and hardworking! She will easily transition off the net for a three-, six-, one- or slide. You name the route, and she can run it. Her communication is loud and clear. She tracks the ball well and makes smart decisions according to the pass. Ki is a prominent piece of our offense; she does a great job cutting sharp shots and holding our blockers for our pins! Although she was injured at the Emerald City Classic, she made it a point to be present and push her teammates. Even though she couldn’t play, her competitiveness still shone through!”

Rohner long 6’1″, and uses that length to stifle opposing hitters at the net and deliver timely kills as on offense for PSVBA 17 Legacy. The long reach of the junior from White River blankets opposing middles and Rohner can snap down swings at hard angles to score. She is currently the #83 overall player in our updated rankings, and continues to grow her game overall. Rohner has a greater feel for finding holes in the block and moving her own approach to get increased angles for her own swings.

The White River middle/right side continued to develop her game with PSVBA this season. At 6 foot 1, Rohner makes good decisions on tight balls at the net and has a solid press on the block. The seam “3” is a great play for Rohner and her PSVBA setters, she consistently found space to score in between the block.

Rohner worked extremely hard on defense, giving maximum effort to post a big block pin-to-pin against A4. In a second-set PSVBA win, she had several soft blocks allowing the outside hitters for her team to get excellent scoring opportunities. She likes to find the seam running a “3”, and can use finesse dropping in a soft tip right over the opposing middle blocker. Keep an eye on her fellow middle, Ishna Tickoo. Tickoo tallied solid stuff blocks to build momentum for her team all weekend long.

A 6 foot middle blocker, Rohner is a second team all-conference performer and will anchor the spot along with Lauren Hutchinson. A developing talent as an attacker, her strength is her hard work pin to pin putting up a solid block. Rohner has a strong press and does good eye work to anticipate the offensive sets.
