It’s normal to see a large group of players debut when a class is updated for only the second time, especially when a full club season of exposure has occurred. Players who may not have had a featured role as sophomores in high school have a chance to compete in their own age group, and several of the players featured here caught our early in the 2023 club season.

At 6 feet 3 inches tall with a powerful left handed swing, Daniel has the prototype tools to play the right side at a high level. The Bellevue Christian junior excelled in that spot for her Sudden Impact team during the club season, and she still has plenty of development left. Daniel lands at #17 overall in her first sate rankings appearance, she is one to watch moving forward.

Another excellent defender to come out of the Mead program in North Spokane, Reich was a solid passer all season long for CPA 16 Drew. She has good length as a libero, and uses that length to hustle down balls to the corner and lay out for tips that seem to be sure to score.
Skagen has a variety of shots in her toolbox at the outside hitter position, and is a dynamic six-rotation player. There may be outsides with a bigger arm, or more length, but the NPJ Seattle standout is near the top of the list when her whole game is taken into consideration. Her ball control is superb, and her athleticism allows her to attack with a high contact point that lets her be terminal.

The Central Valley junior pounded down kills for her RVC team this season. Settling in as a right side, Jennings was able to see the block in front of her and either drive a kill down the line or to the angle with accuracy. Jennings has played every position across the front line, she can attack from all angles and has a powerful swing wherever she is set.
Barbee was impressive at the Emerald City Classic and had been on the radar for rankings since playing well as a sophomore defender for West Valley Yakima. She has shown not only the steady consistent passing you need in serve receive, but a knack for digging out tips and shots headed to the hard angle. Barbee will look to have a big season for a West Valley Yakima team that has been consistently in the state tournament.
Williams is another defender who can flat-out go get it, much like Barbee from West Valley and several of the talented 2025 liberos in Washington. This is a strong position group, and Williams earned her spot in the rankings with her athletic brand of defense, and a take-charge attitude when she is playing on the back line. The defender from Curtis High School is physically gifted with quickness and speed, she has no problem getting down on the court and digging out a tough shot.

We like the consistency in the 6-foot-tall Johnson’s overall game. An outside hitter for Eastlake and Sudden Impact, Johnson can pass tough in serve receive and take a critical swing with the set on the line. Her club season built upon a strong sophomore season in high school, and Johnson developed her shot selection as well as her ability to take a set that might not be perfect and make it tough on the opposing defense. Eastlake will be counting on a big season from the junior attacker.

The White River middle/right side continued to develop her game with PSVBA this season. At 6 foot 1, Rohner makes good decisions on tight balls at the net and has a solid press on the block. The seam “3” is a great play for Rohner and her PSVBA setters, she consistently found space to score in between the block.
Willsey will have to decide on her best position, she showed the ability to pass and play back-row defense at the USAV All-Satr Championships. The junior from CRU has an arm swing that impresses, and she can attack with power from different angles and positions on the court. Willsey hits a heavy ball that sinks and catches the back line or can bust through weak blocks.
Akolzin has been putting in the time and training with Dakine, her setting location is solid and she plays a gritty brand of defense. The Kentwood junior should be a valuable contributor this fall, her ability to get to the second ball is impressive and she has a tremendous demeanor on the court.
