Although Assumption has a wide variety of talented defensive specialists, Needham made her way into the varsity lineup. After watching her performance this last week, it’s easy to understand why. The freshman DS was not only able to hold her own but also excelled going up against some of the top servers in the state. Kinsley had quick feet paired with beautiful angles, which resulted in stellar passing both on serve receive and in defense. Needham makes an amazing addition to Assumption’s already stellar back row.

Get a libero who can do a little of everything. Needham has already compiled reps as a defender and an outside hitter, giving her teams plenty of lineup options. This versatility is a perfect fit for events like the Up Next Showcase, where distinctions between positions and responsibilities are often blurred. No matter where Needham found herself on the court, she provided a spark that made her a persistent standout in Des Moines.
