About Kortney

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is very aggressive because as a middle, I like being in control at the net and taking advantage of any ball that comes my way. I'm also very strategic placing the ball wherever is necessary to gain points.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Throughout the game I have a very "next ball" mentality. My personality on the court is very outgoing and positive. I love cheering for my teammates especially when someone gets a monster block.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I'm in many clubs at my school including Young Women's leadership, Student Counsel, and Cancer Awareness club. I am also in the National Honors Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

This past year I really developed the skill of leadership on my Highschool team. Being an upperclassman on varsity, it is very important to be aware that the younger girls look up to you, so leading by example is very implemented by my coaches.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My sophomore year one of my shin splints turned into a stress fracture so I had a little set back for a month or two. I learned that its very important to take care of your body.
