Bishop will be a part of the Roots 18-1 Green team that will take the courts in Bryan. She has been one of the best liberos in the Austin area in her age group over the last few years and should be a standout in the position in the event. Bishop is a tall libero and she uses her body extremely well to be productive in the backcourt by expanding her defensive range and moving with great balance towards the ball. She has one of the toughest floaters in the event and should cause a lot of problems for opponents from the service line over the weekend.

Bishop will be in action with Roots 161 Green in the Power Pool 1 of the 16s division. She’s a very unique libero because of her 5’8″ frame, which allows her to play the game differently than many other players in the position would. Bishop has a tremendous range with her long frame and also reads the game very well, placing herself in good spots. Because of that, you won’t see her having to dive way too far from her zone to make digs. Bishop also moves very well on the backcourt and has excellent ball control. She’s also a force from the service line, causing a great impact with her serves.

Bishop played a big role in Roots 161 Green’s efficiency on the backcourt. Very calm on the ball, she benefited from her positioning and her defensive range to get a lot of touches on defense and was able to keep the vast majority of them in play thanks to her great ball control. Bishop was also very productive with her passing, moving quickly to the ball and consistently delivering it to her setter on very good spots.

Bishop’s Roots 161 Green team advanced all the way to the golden bracket final and the libero had a lot to do with it. One could tell she was always very comfortable on the backcourt and her first contact was always very clean and precise. Bishop was very consistent with her passing but was possibly even more impactful with her defense. A taller libero at 5’8″, she used her length to get to balls and her superior ball control to make digs and keep them in play.
