One of her biggest takeaways was learning how to adjust to out-of-system sets from unfamiliar setters. “I haven’t gotten much of this opportunity, and I felt I got a lot better at reacting and chasing rather than guessing,” she said. The chance to adapt in real time helped Laurel improve her responsiveness and timing, especially in unpredictable game situations.

Her proudest moment came at the end of camp, looking around the team huddle and realizing the group had transformed from strangers to friends. Building those connections and supporting one another throughout the day added to the overall experience. Looking ahead, Laurel has her sights set on strengthening her high-hands game, a skill she’s committed to refining. “It’s something I’ve been working on, and I know I can continue to improve it to help raise the level of my play,” she shared. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247
