Coleman heads into her last run at a state title three years removed from her first championship as a freshman with the Lions in 2022. She is now the undisputed hammer for her squad offensively, and she makes the same impact as a dominant blocker. Coleman will be playing at Santa Clara University next season; her quickness closing the block and explosion off the floor will be a challenge for teams at the Sun Dome.

Coleman played a terrific match versus PineappleHP 17s on the first day of competition in the 17 Open Division. In the second set, the Santa Clara commit dominated play at the net with multiple down blocks that scored and shifted the match’s momentum. Her hang time is impressive, allowing her to work shots when she needs to find a soft spot to score against a solid block. Coleman pushed to the back corner and dropped in a crafty tip to complement her big swings. SIVBC ultimately dropped the match against Pineapple HP in three hard-fought sets and will start day two looking for their first victory.

It’s easy to see Colemans explosiveness on the court, that was there as a freshman when Lakeside made a run to the state title with Coleman already a contributor on that terrific team. This club season, her read and feel for the game looked next level. Coleman flowed to the seams in system and in transition, giving her setters a target that was available and in great position to score. Score she did, pounding kills down to the angle and rocketing swings off the block. As a blocker she has the speed and timing to go get an attacker on the pin, but her eye work and anticipation allowed her to get a great jump and be in position to not have to make as many big moves to close the block. At Emerald City she recorded several monster stuff blocks, against some excellent teams and players in the 18 open Division.

Coleman was tough to stop offensively at Emerald City when Sudden Impact was able to run her quickly in system. The high flyer from Lakeside ate several defenses up on the “1” and “31” sets, and provided a hard working block defensively. Her atleticism and excellent block touch project well at the next level.

Coleman was playing multiple positions for Lakeside in the early part of the season, forced to carry a major load after the Lions lost a tremendous 2023 class. She settled back into her familiar spot in the middle and showed the dynamic arm and athleticism that lands her in the top 5 for this update. That versatility will do nothing but help her game overall, playing with Sudden Impact this club season she should be comfortable if called upon to take a critical swing from the pin or the middle. Coleman has great press on the block, touching 10 feet allows her to stuff block swings straight down for points.

Coleman has been featured in the middle and on the pins for a young Lakeside team this season. A dominating blocker, she excelled playing MB for Sudden Impact during the club season and can blast balls at sharp angles when running quick hitters. Playing at times as a pin will only enhance her overall game, and Lakeside can always rely on her tremendous shut-down blocking when she is on the net.

Coleman is extremely bouncy, the high flyer from Lakeside is the winner of the “most likely to blow up an unlucky libero” who hangs in against a Coleman strike. She showed flashes during the school season as the Lions ran away with the 3A title, now she is pouring it on as Sudden Impact rolls into Chicago. Coleman can deliver a momentum-changing block, and she is beginning to run a hard-to-stop slide in transition. The class of 2026 is deep in Middles in the Puget Sound Region, Coleman has been staking her claim as the leader of the group.
