About La’Vhea

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my playing style as a dedicated and versatile player with a strong work ethic and I am a powerful hitter with a focus on court awareness.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I'm a leader who believes in inspiring through positivity and humor. I'm energetic and vocal, and I use that to create a dynamic and engaging environment. I'm driven to make a positive impact, and I find that a blend of leadership, laughter, and optimism is the most effective way to do that. I also have a competitive edge developed through volleyball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I served on the student council, where I contributed to organizing school events, representing student concerns, and attending leadership conferences. This experience honed my leadership and organizational skills. I learned how to effectively communicate with diverse groups and work collaboratively to achieve common goals. My loud and positive personality helped motivate others to participate.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed a strong competitive drive and a consistently positive attitude, both of which I believe are highly transferable skills. My experience in competitive volleyball has taught me how to set ambitious goals and work relentlessly to achieve them. I'm not afraid to take initiative and lead by example. My loud and energetic personality naturally translates into motivating others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

During a crucial volleyball tournament, I experienced a significant setback when I didn't perform as well as I had hoped. I needed to overcome this disappointment and regain my confidence. I analyzed my performance, identified areas for improvement, and got feedback from my coach. I increased my practice time and focused on mental preparation. I used my competitive nature to drive myself forward.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm drawn to colleges that foster a strong sense of community and school spirit, where both academics and athletics are highly valued. I want a 'full college experience' that includes challenging coursework, competitive athletics, and a vibrant campus life. I'm looking for a place where I can grow intellectually, athletically, and personally, surrounded by passionate and driven individuals.
