Caffery had an outstanding high school season this fall, coming one win short of making it to the State Tournament. Despite not going all the way, Leah led her team to a 28-8 record, averaging 9.4 assists per set. One thing I like about this setter is that although she isn’t the tallest setter, she plays like she is. Caffery does a phenomenal job putting up a block and knows how to get around a block while going over on two. No matter the situation, she always remains composed and reassuring to her teammates. This athlete has a lot of qualities that college coaches look for in their setters.

Leah was an absolute game-changer on the court. She was an impactful leader in both her physical and mental game. As a setter, Leah is clean, quick, and has good fundamentals. As a leader, she is positive, engaging, and a high-level communicator. What stood out about her play is that she is the entire package as an athlete.

I’ve scouted Caffery consistently throughout the last few club campaigns. My latest in-person look came at the 2026 Nike President’s Day Classic in St. Louis. The Wilton junior helped Select 17 Mizuno finish fifth out of 32 teams in the open division. Caffery is rock solid, standing out for her consistency and limiting mistakes. She’s technically sound with a great feel for the setter position. No matter the team, Caffery displays a keen understanding on where to put the ball for her attackers to take advantage. Her block is effective thanks to sharp timing and quick reactions, which also help her in serve-receive. Caffery boasts the talent to help a smart program at the next level that provides her with an opportunity.
