About Lily

What's your biggest strength as a player, and how does it show up in games?

My biggest strength as a player is keeping my team motivated and energetic on and off court, even when we may be down. I believe it is important to keep morale up. I am also one to constantly move for the ball, even if it means sacrificing my body. I broke my nose on a play and ran back into position until the play was over. I have been working on not getting in my head and just moving forward.

What are you working to improve right now?

Right now, I am working on my defensive skills. That will help me be more proactive and aggressive. Trusting your team is important, but when they call someone off a ball and then assume someone else is to get it- I need to be aware and not allow that ball to hit the ground.

What are you looking for in a college program?

I am looking for a college that will challenge me not only academically but also in Volleyball. I would like a college that has strong, aggressive coaching who continues to develop players, but also prepare me academically for Pre-Med (Neurosurgeon).

Outside of your sport, what should coaches know about you?

I would like coaches to know that I am strong, dependable, always willing to work on myself and help the team. I am also someone who lifts players up. There is always something to improve on. After games where I believe I was not at my best, I am aware of mistakes and work on them after the game and during practice so I don't make those mistakes again (or try not to). I bring laughter & positivity

What do you want to study, and what career interests you?

I want to study Pre-Med to move into Neuroscience as I want to become a Neurosurgeon. I have sat down with my school counselor at Mountain Ridge High School to discuss my path, the colleges I am interested in. I plan on taking Chemistry Sophomore year and AP Biology Junior year to prepare for future classes along with Honors Algebra.
