Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I am a quick, confident setter and I take pride in my decision-making and ability to run the offense. I’ve also played as a defensive specialist, so I’m confident in the back row. I lead on the court with constant communication and aim to foster a trusting and positive play style with my teammates. I am very competitive by nature and I am always looking for a way to win!
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I have been told I am a “Unifying Force” - I take that as a huge compliment as I strive to always be my best and see the best in others. I am an organized, honest, resilient leader/Captain who embraces new challenges because they are always opportunities to grow and learn. Youngest of four, I have a competitive, underdog mentality that drives me to work relentlessly hard in everything I do.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a second year leader for the Women in Business Club as well as a member of the OLSM Baking Club and the Athletes for Christ organization. I was awarded OLSM Highest Honors/Summa Cum Laude Freshman Year for my GPA. I am a Varsity athlete, school ambassador and tour guide. Additionally, I tudor math and science over the summer for kids in grade school and middle school.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
One of two freshman on Varsity last year, I studied the leadership of seniors while being a team player who supported as needed. I learned the importance of taking responsibility, navigating difficult decisions, and setting boundaries — takeaways that will guide me as a starting setter and team Captain this year. I enjoy giving back by volunteering and coaching various volleyball camps for kids.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I have faced challenges which felt significant to me at the time — a difficult class, a decision that did not go my way, a friend’s betrayal…but nothing that I haven’t been able to overcome and learn from with a resilient mindset and the support of those around me. I am very lucky to have a wonderful, supportive family and friend group!
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking to attend a school with high academic standards and a welcoming environment which fosters learning, innovation, creativity and collaboration. I would like to be a part of a volleyball program that challenges me to be a great person and player.
