Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
McDonald plays as a libero for Gunter High School and represents Vision Volleyball Club at the club level. She’s done well in some of our previous showcases and is consistently a standout in matches and tournaments in the Dallas area with her highly productive game. McDonald covers a lot of ground with her long frame and outstanding positioning and makes the most of her ability to read opponents to always be one step ahead and make the most of that split-second that’s often the difference between getting to the ball or not. Her ball control is very solid and her ability to remain disciplined with her body shape and angles ensures she always makes contact in the best possible way.

is one of the more unusual profiles in this group. At 5’8″, she brings a physical dimension to the libero position that most defenders at this level simply do not have, and Prep Dig has already put her on the Texas official watch list in the 2028 class. That combination of size and early recognition is the kind of thing that gets a college coach’s attention before a single ball is served. The questions to answer on July 19th are how she uses that length to extend her court coverage, whether her platform mechanics are consistent with players trying to serve around her size, and how quickly she reads hitters she has not seen before. She is the player on this roster that evaluators should be most curious about walking in.

covered ground and made it look controlled. She handled pace without letting the ball ricochet, absorbing heavy swings and keeping digs in system. Her platform angles were consistent, and she did a great job taking the ball with her body instead of reaching, which kept passes neutral and playable. In scramble situations, she extended rallies with second-effort digs and stayed composed enough to turn those touches into transitions. Her communication stood out in serve-receive, taking charge of seams and keeping the group connected. ~Theresa @prepdigdakotas

London is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Gunter High School and also for the Vision volleyball club. There were a few things that stood out about Miss McDonald as we watched her throughout the showcase. As you watch her focus and attention to the opposition when they have the ball on their side of the court, you can see that she is processing things quickly in order to read the play early. When she does touch the ball with her platform, you see a very soft natural touch on the ball that keeps it on her side of the court in order for her setter to run offense. A lot of younger players have the tendency to swing their arms wildly, which causes the ball to not be delivered consistently to a perfect position for the setter. Her court coach nominated her because of her awesome lead by example attitude and coachability. We loved having her in the gym competing at a high level. Please help us congratulate her on earning a Top Performer award.
