About Lyla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

About Lyla: I am a skilled setter and right-side hitter with strong court awareness, and ability to make plays under pressure. I have strong defensive instincts, precise ball placement, and great communication—key traits for running a successful offense. My athletic skills allow me to compete athletically and effectively at the net, both offensively and defensively.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’ve always had a deep love for volleyball, and I give 110% every time I step on the court. I’m self-motivated, competitive, and always looking for ways to get better. I love encouraging my teammates and being someone they can count on—whether it’s calling out plays or leading prayer before a match. I take pride in being a leader, not just by what I say, but how I play and carry myself.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

✅ Consistently leads teams in prayer and encouragement ✅ Serves as a mentor to teammates and other students in church ✅ Involved in NJHS and EAST program ✅ Also play 2nd base for our softball team

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Strengths & Leadership: ✅ Vocal, positive leader on and off the court ✅ Push others around me to be better ✅ Team goals are ahead of personal goals ✅ Lead by example not through words

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to be part of a competitive volleyball program that values teamwork, strong leadership, and a positive culture. I’m drawn to coaches who push their players to be their best while also supporting them as individuals. Academically, I’m undecided, but interested in a career that allows me to make a positive impact on others.
