About Lyla

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as focusing on self- improvement, respect and fair play, motivation and inspiration, having a growth mindset and maintaining my passion for volleyball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would describe my personality as I am a kind, strong, hardworking, respectful and loving person in and outside of volleyball.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was apart of the student council as a 6th and 7th grader, having to do community service and be a leader around the school. I received an award for the character trait of manners. I was also part of my schools flag football team. I received the "Scholar Athlete" and "Presidential Award" at my 8th grade award ceremony.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed leadership skills through being apart of student council, being a captain on both my club and school volleyball teams. Being a part of a team helps create strong teamwork skills by working together to achieve success through the face of adversity.

What type of college are you looking for?

As of right now, I am keeping my options open but looking for a good academic and volleyball fit.

Lyla made an immediate impact in her varsity debut at Sierra Vista, stepping into a crucial role and owning it. She distributed the ball efficiently all season and played a major part in leading her team to the 4A State Championship. Lyla finished fifth in state in assists while also contributing from the service line, defensively, and at the net. Her ability to manage the offense and make teammates better stood out, and joining a national schedule with Vegas Aces 15 Ren should bring even more exposure. Expect her leadership and production to translate seamlessly into club season.
