About Mackenzie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love competing in high intensity games! I enjoy pushing myself to play to the next level, staying calm and regrouping even after a mistake. I really enjoy volleyball IQ which helps me be a strong strategic player. Supporting my team on the court and even from the sidelines is an important part of what helps me be successful at my gameplay.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My faith is the largest contributor to my personality. I work hard, focus on the positive and keep things simple to reach my goals. I believe there is always room for improvement and look for opportunities to grow. My coaches have described me as stoic and humble. Building and keeping relationships is very important to me.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I was selected thru my school to be a student leader for the Playworks program which allows me to support the younger students play respectfully and safely on the playground. I also do peer counseling and have worked with multiple students during my 8th grade year at my middle school. I am a member of National Junior Honor Society.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

As a peer counselor I have strengthened my listening skills and recognize that everyone reacts differently to situations. I lead younger students at my school weekly during recess as I guide them thru different Playworks activities. I have also completed many hours of community service through NJHS including serving food to the homeless and organizing Christmas gifts for the needy.
