About Mackenzie

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a libero, I stay composed, precise in serve receive, and quick in reading the game. I lead with communication, bring energy, and work hard every day, supporting my teammates and growing as a leader.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the court is a mix of hard work and lightheartedness. I bring a positive, joking personality, but when it’s time to compete, I’m fully focused. I’m always striving to improve myself, and I push my teammates to do the same. I stay committed, balance fun with focus, and I’m always there to support and lift others up, both on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced challenges in volleyball, especially when it comes to confidence and handling pressure. Just before tryouts, my coach, who gave me so much confidence, passed away from cancer. That loss was hard, and some days I still struggle to stay focused. But I keep going—I work hard, push through the setbacks, and lean on my teammates. Each obstacle reminds me to grow stronger and keep her spirit.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a college with a competitive volleyball program—one that will challenge me and help me grow both as a player and a person. I want a team that pushes me to reach my full potential, with coaches and teammates who support me through every step of my collegiate journey. I’m excited to find a place where I can thrive and contribute to a dynamic, driven team.
