Stukenholtz has brought her small-town stardom to the club stage with Premier Nebraska, where her lockdown defense was a highlight of 16 Red’s eventful spring campaign. On the high school side, this instinctive defender has churned out digs for a Platteview program familiar with impactful liberos. Stukenholtz has started with a 4.6 dig-per-set average, building off a similarly gaudy clip she had as a sophomore. The Trojans have roared to an 11-3 start behind a wicked combination of ball control and terminal attackers, so we could see Stukenholtz step up to the tournament stage this fall.

She averaged 4.3 digs per set with the Trojans last fall and has taken another step forward in the Premier Nebraska gym. Defensive dominance has become Premier Nebraska 16 Red’s calling card. The team has so much backcourt talent that we’ve often seen a two-libero operation from 16 Red. Stukenholtz manages to stand out no matter how much time she spends on the court, and 16 Red looked to the Platteview sophomore often in Minneapolis. Stukenholtz has a steady platform in serve receive and made numerous defensive reads in the contrasting jersey. Her first contacts were often the precursor to terminations, and 16 Red understands the value of their “littles.”

Stukenholtz remains a integral part of this equation and took another step forward against regional competition. Stukenholtz can wear a few different hats for Premier Nebraska 15 Red. Her excellent defensive output allows her to slot into any zone along the end line. However, Stukenholtz can also command 15 Red’s second contacts and generated productive setter stints at USAV Nationals. The Platteview setter uses her lateral quickness to track down errant passes and give her hitters a chance to succeed. 15 Red’s hot start in Vegas will bring several athletes into our first 2027 rankings.

Stukenholtz’s aggressive style is rare for a setter coming out of the back row. She has a tricky set-over dump that takes defenses by surprise, and Stukenholtz can also read open gaps to become part of the offense. Of course, this Premier 15 Red setter also distributes well and brings a wicked serve from behind the line. We’re ready to see these traits show up again on the national stage.
