, a Class of 2028 defensive specialist and libero from Mission Veterans Memorial High School and McAllen Premier Volleyball Club, is one of the most difficult players in South Texas to game plan against because the offensive production she generates from the back row is not something opposing coaches can afford to ignore. Opposing head coaches have publicly cited keeping the ball away from her as a primary defensive priority, and she arrived at the area round of the UIL playoffs with over 400 kills on the season alongside a district MVP award that reflected both her offensive damage and her overall impact on a Patriots team that carried real postseason expectations. She put up 35 kills in a fifth-set district-title clincher, scored the final three points herself to seal the match, and walked off the court exhausted and completely committed, which is as clear a picture of what she brings to a program as you can get. The volleyball IQ she plays with extends to every phase of the game and she communicates and competes with a confidence that elevates everyone around her on the court. College programs that have not yet evaluated the Rio Grande Valley are missing out on one of the more compelling two-way competitors in the 2028 class in Texas. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot on our Official Watch List.

Perez stood out in the MPV 15N-Maverick team that got fourth this weekend with a campaign of six wins and two losses. A left-footed pin hitter, she was excellent on both sides of the ball and made the most of her technical skills and superior volleyball IQ. Playing against taller blockers, Perez was impeccable with her shot selection, consistently finding ways to hit around them and send the ball into an open spot – she also scored at a very high rate in out-of-system plays and played on the right in one rotation. The outside hitter covered a lot of ground in serve-receive and was very active on the backcourt, producing a high number of digs, many of which were impressive ones.

Mady is currently an unranked prospect in the 2028 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She plays for Mission Veterans Memorial High School and also plays for the Mcallen Premier volleyball club program. Miss Perez has been on a tear in her first season on varsity as she has tallied the most kills amongst all freshmen on varsity in the state. Her kill total stands at 442 on a .279 hitting percentage. The talented lefty is a master at moving the ball around to all areas of the opposing court in order to score. She really finds a lot of holes in the defense and has been very efficient at scoring for her squad. While being a lot smaller than most at her position, she is unafraid of going up against anyone. What makes her special right now is how she is contacting the bottom third of the ball due to her height and creating a lot of top spin in order for the ball to land at the last three feet of the end line or sideline. Not many are blocking her due to them not seeing a lot of left-handed left side attackers often. She is also using some timely tips and off-speed shots and it is working very effectively against everyone in her team’s way.
