How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style is flexible depending on the circumstances (i.e., my teammates, our opponents). I've developed a high volleyball IQ and have an eye for open spots in a block or on the court. I vary my serve (pounding it deep or floating a drop serve short) and attack (cut shots, tips to the back corner, or just tooling the block).

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My personality centers on a strong work ethic in everything I do, whether at practice, in school, at my job, or working out. I've had to deal with some perfectionism over the years (including on the court), but I've learned how to power through my mistakes and stay focused). I'm also generous and like to help others, and it's usually the best part of my day when I can lend a helping hand.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Outside of club and high school volleyball, I am part of a Catholic girls club called Sodality that volunteers around the Reno area. We volunteer throughout the year to raise money for Thanksgiving meals that we then deliver to churches around town. I'm always on the honor roll and have been Summa Cum Laude every semester so far in high school.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

It takes determination and confidence to be a leader, and my coaches and teammates have recognized these traits in me as I've had the honor of serving as team captain the past 5 years. I'm also a good teammate both on and off the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

One of my biggest challenges as an undersized pin hitter has been that coaches have doubted me every day since I was 11. These doubters have driven me to work harder, and I'm not satisfied with my 25" vertical so am working hard to add another foot to my attack jump. I look up to players like Jill Gillen and Leketor Member-Meneh who can jump out of the gym and they've become my inspiration.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would like to attend one of the three service academies and am working hard to satisfy their admission requirements. I'm also interested in schools on the West coast with strong academics.
