Overall, I thought Maka was one of the top outside hitters in the gym when it came to her impact on the game. She found ways to score from all across the front row and did so with a high level of success. However, it was actually her back-row play that earned the first note on my sheet. Maka moved well defensively, came up with multiple digs, and showed she can be a factor even when she’s away from the net. And as you want to see from an outside capable of playing six rotations, she also showed she can remain an offensive threat from behind the 10-foot line. Her ability to impact the game in multiple ways made for an impressive all-around showing.

Maka enters her junior season with nearly 700 career kills and 700 digs, showing her ability to make an impact on both sides of the ball. She plays her club ball with Shockwave and has shown she can handle her own defensively, both at the net and in the back row. Since I haven’t had the opportunity to see her during the club season, I’m looking forward to seeing how her offensive game translates against the bigger blocks she may face this weekend and how she adjusts her attack when those challenges arise.

Maka will have no shortage of options at the next level. Like many of the athletes we’ve highlighted in this series, Maka has dazzled on the high school stage in venues beyond volleyball. She’s a multi-sport gem who has transformed Chaparral High School’s game plans, and the results show in the box score. This high-flying pin hitter posted 4.5 kills per set last year and eclipsed 300 total terminations in each of her underclassman seasons with the Roadrunners. Her dig numbers have been similarly impressive, elevating Maka into a constant double-double threat. That description applies to her basketball career, too!

Okay, this is an easy one. Maka’s combination of 322 digs and 388 kills is the most entertaining combination since the Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner! If you get it, you get it! Maka is ranked No. 21 overall by Prep Dig Kansas.

Maka has consistently been ranked in the Top 20 by Prep Dig Kansas. She claimed her Prep Dig Profile early in the process and has registered a ton of playing time the past two seasons for the Roadrunners. She has had back-to-back seasons with both 300-plus kills and digs. She should reach the 1,000-career benchmark in both of those categories during her junior season. She is also a talented basketball player, averaging eight-plus points and seven-plus rebounds for the Chaparral through five games.

Maka registered 388 kills in 87 sets played. She is arguably the top athlete in this class, who is still flying under the radar. The small school prospect has posted back-to-back solid prep seasons. She was also recently featured in a report for the defensive skills she brings to the court for the Roadrunners. Maka is ranked No. 18 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028.

Maka is a three-sport prospect from Chaparral. She also plays basketball and softball. During her sophomore season, she recorded 322 digs in 87 sets played. We had to include Maka in this discussion of high-volume scorers. Her show-stopping athleticism left a lasting impression at our 2024 KS/MO showcase, but that was just the beginning of Maka’s rise among her 2028 peers. She put up just over 300 kills as a freshman, but has already greatly exceeded that bar in 2025. Her 4.5 kills per set lead the Chaparral tally by a large margin, and Maka’s incredibly high ceiling has us excited for the program’s future.

One team I am going to make an effort to watch is the Chaparral Roadrunners. Maka is ranked No. 3 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. She posted eye-popping numbers last season, so I want to take advantage of seeing he play in person in Topeka. Chaparral will compete in Pool B and begin its tournament with a 10:30 match against the Hays No. 1 team on Court 2.

Maka is ranked No. 2 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028. She posted impressive numbers for the Roadrunners. During her freshman season, she registered 305 kills and 392 digs. She has a dangerous serve which accounted for 50 aces last fall. I need to check out Chaparral’s schedule next year and see if I can find a match for them to scout. I will need to be a Roadwarrior if I want to see the Roadrunners play.
