About Mallory

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I would describe my gameplay style as go after every ball. No dropped balls! It's very important to me to start every play off with a great pass.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a very infectious personality. I love making my teammates laugh. I try my best to keep a positive attitude on and off the court. When I step onto the court my mentality becomes gameplay motivated. It's important for me to get my team hype after a great play and I do just that!

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Being a libero I believe it is my job to run the defense and make sure every pass sets the offense up for success. That has helped me become a better leader for my team. I have gained so many qualities being on a competitive team, discipline, responsibility, teamwork, grit, & communication skills.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that is someplace warm, offers a great medical program, and has social/community events. I love being near water so it's definitely a plus if my future college has that!

Raines and her Shockwave 18 team are through to the Gold Bracket in the American Division at PNQ. The Kennewick libero is playing with focus and decisively cuts off a ball she can make a play on. Raines plays low to the ground, and with quick feet, she is tough to score on with any type of tip or setter dump. In a match versus CVVC 18, she put together a string of plays: a one-handed stab for a dig, a tough tip cover that definitely left a bruise, then a sprawling dig that ended up falling for a libero kill on the other side of the net.
