Herron is a six foot outside hitter who plays at Waco Midway High School and competes at the club level for Austin Performance Volleyball . She has also committed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Mississippi. Herron presents a very difficult matchup at the net because of the length in her extremities. Her reach allows her to press over the net and take away valuable attacking space from opposing hitters. One of the most impressive aspects of her defensive game is how she reads the quality of the opponent’s pass and anticipates the setter’s options. When she recognizes that the ball is likely going to the middle, she cheats with purpose and commits to a disciplined double block alongside her middle. That awareness allows her defense to set up confidently around her hands instead of guessing where the ball might be attacked. Offensively, her length once again becomes a major advantage. Blockers struggle to time her because she contacts the ball at a high point and creates sharp, difficult angles. Her arm swing is lightning quick and compact, which causes the ball to clear the block and reach the floor in a hurry. She does not rely solely on power, but rather combines reach, timing, and speed to generate consistent scoring opportunities.
