Mike Bryant | Prep Dig Scout
Whalen (*pictured) continued to shine through her final season with Loveland as she had been raising her stock with her play. The 1st team all-ECC selection helped guide her team to the top finish in the conference standings and into the DI state semifinal round. The primary pin was fourth overall in offense with 289 total kills for a 3.04 k/s average with ability to open up well to the ball to generate some good pace and range. Currently uncommitted, she will compete for Cincy East 18 Black this club season.

Whalen is a critical part of her Cincy East team’s effort. At 5’10, the six-rotation pin contributes as an anchor in their ball control, with good defense, and with her arm offensively. She reads and reacts well in the first-touch aspects that can get her setter into good situations to run their offense. As a hitter, the Loveland product swings with high contact that can challenge the defense and find space. She earned 130 kills last fall and should see an uptick in her production with more opportunities in 2025.
