About Mary

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a setter, my priority is strong communication with my teammates. I try to tailor my sets to best utilize my teammates' strengths and maximize our potential. I try to vary our attacks to keep the defense off balance. I take pride in my defense and play a well rounded style.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a team player, driven by hard work and a passion for seeing my teammates excel. My enthusiasm extends beyond the court, as I have a natural curiosity and a love for learning about new things and exploring diverse topics.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am an honors student in the most advanced classes offered at The John Cooper School. I am a member of the varsity basketball team at John Cooper and I am active in my church youth group.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I founded a 501(c)(3) charity called Sporting Goods Giveback which collects used sporting goods to distribute to disadvantaged youth athletes. I founded this charity to empower disadvantaged youth by providing them with the sporting goods they need to participate in the sports they love, fostering their physical and personal development.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college match that offers a high-level competitive volleyball program alongside rigorous academics, robust mentorship opportunities in both athletics and career development, and a varied curriculum that provides a broad and enriching educational experience.
