Maveti’s Voice
“I am learning a lot from the seniors. They remind me constantly to communicate and hustle when I’m on the court. I work hard during practice and also get extra reps on the weekend to get extra touches. I want to be ready and prepared when I’m called onto the court.”

She keeps her focus on the two things the seniors keep telling her, communication and hustle. The extra weekend reps show a habit of readiness that coaches can build on.

In Maveti’s Words

Maveti brings a physical presence that immediately stands out. She attacks with confidence, generates a strong, aggressive swing, and consistently finds ways to terminate when opportunities present themselves. What I appreciated most was that she remained assertive throughout the match, continuing to apply offensive pressure instead of becoming tentative against quality competition. Attackers who maintain that mindset become difficult to slow down over the course of a match, and Maveti has the tools to continue developing into a dynamic offensive threat. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

Faumuina is a player that is a true competitor with great court awareness that does whatever is needed for her team. As an attacker, she brings a big, heavy swing that puts constant pressure on defenses, but she is also willing to step in and take the second ball when needed. Her court awareness and reaction time is solid, allowing her to read plays and make quick movements and decisions. She also has a “toolbox” of shots in her competitive repertoire that she combines with her strong defense, making her a well-rounded and powerful player to have on both sides of the ball.
