Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Brandt’s defensive excellence has been a staple in the Nebraska Elite gym. She commands the libero jersey for Nebraska Elite 17 Phoenix and has already had multiple standout performances at major events this year. The Fremont junior reminded us of her backcourt skills when she competed at January’s Northern Lights Qualifier in Minneapolis. Brandt was not finished, as she led 17 Phoenix to a solid showing at the President’s Day Classic. We’ve discussed her stock-riser potential before, and Brandt has kept climbing in 2025.

Let’s bring Nebraska Elite into the mix. Brandt was a pivotal piece of the club’s talented 16s squad this year, particularly at regional events like the Midwest Power League. This talented libero’s dominance extended into her junior year with Fremont, where she averaged an incredible 5.3 digs per set in the team’s contrasting jersey. The Tigers claimed the No. 3 seed in Class A behind relentless ball control and transition offense. Brandt can help both phases with Nebraska Elite.

Here’s another Class of 2026 athlete gaining momentum after this year’s club season. Brandt was a game-altering defender for Nebraska Elite in the spring and has resumed her major role with Fremont. The Tigers have rolled to a 6-0 start and have received 4.8 digs per set from their star libero. Brandt’s recent gains are a reminder that the Class of 2026 is still developing and finding its form this fall.

When Brandt gets a chance to don the libero jersey, she doesn’t waste the opportunity. We saw her libero skills materialize at last month’s Midwest Power League, where Brandt dug some serious heat in the crosscourt. The Fremont prep athlete is comfortable with using her hands to snare attacks that are drifting skyward. Even when Brandt is not the libero, she is a sure bet to slot into the Nebraska Elite backcourt in some way. 16 Lokahi gets the most out of their game-changing defender.

Brandt played with a fearless style that simply could not be ignored. This was especially evident in Nebraska Elite 16 Lokahi’s high-level tilt against the aforementioned Nebraska ONE 17 Black. Nebraska Elite has previously wielded Brandt as a primary defensive specialist, but last weekend’s Power League gave us a chance to see what she could do in the libero jersey. Brandt looks incredibly comfortable in the role and will never be afraid to absorb some contact in the back row.

More Fremont standouts? We know that backcourt is scrappy. Brandt has embraced her niche as a primary defensive specialist and is chipping in with 2.4 digs per set during her trips across the back row. Coming in cold off the bench and providing a defensive spark is an underrated skill. Brandt is mastering it.
