About Mia

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As a setter, I focus on being strategic, playing the ball smart. I play the best hitting option I have at the moment and prioritize accurate sets that allow my teammates to play the ball smart. Communication is key for me to ensure my team stays in sync.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very outgoing and loud, on and off the court. On the court, I tend to get into my head, but I try to brush it off. I like to have the mentality of: if you make a mistake, you can improve on the next one.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in 2 choirs at my school, all women’s and concert choir. In the all women’s I received a ‘Most Improved’ award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed a leadership and teamwork quality. As a captain and setter on my club team, I like to take control of my team when on the court. I like to make sure my teammates are in the right headspace before next play.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for a school with a good program for my intended major and good volleyball program. I would like to attend a school where I can pursue the Elementary Education major to the best. Also, if I play college volleyball, I would like to have a good program. Not just skill, but coaching staff. I would like a supportive coaching staff and teammates.
